What does your role at Choice training involve?
As the Apprentice & Welfare Manager at the college I oversee the day to day running of apprenticeships ensuring continuity between the employer, apprentice, and Choice Training. I also look after the welfare of all staff and apprentices ensuring all are signposted to the correct agencies if required, if not, my door is always open and I am here for a chat and advice any time.
How long have you worked for Choice Training?
I have been at Choice for six years now, I started in September 2016.
What three words would you use to describe yourself?
Conscientious, passionate about apprenticeships, fun!
What do you love best about your job at Choice Training?
It is like working with a group of friends, we have a good rapport, work is carried out and deadlines met but we still manage to have fun. I have never worked at a place like it before. I enjoy going to work.
What advice can you offer anyone that is considering starting an apprenticeship in plumbing, heating or electrical?
Make sure you research the company that you are applying to, be smart, courteous and sell yourself all your good points. Be positive in your approach and smile.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not at Choice Training?
I have a caravan at Clacton so spend all my free time there, it is my happy place.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?
I don’t always eat chocolate and cake!!
